COVID-19 Developments
“No jab no job policy”
In our December 2021 blog “The impact of omicron“, at the height of the omicron surge, we asked whether employers will change their approach to vaccination status in 2022. Well that question has partly been answered by a recent survey carried out by ACAS which found that 1 in 5 employers were intending to introduce a “no jab, no job” policy . At first glance, this appears to be a relatively high percentage, given that the immediate concerns relating to the disruptive nature of omicron thankfully dissipated early in the year. However, with rates of COVID-19, driven by new omicron variants and a return to normal life, climbing again, we anticipate that employers will once again review the position in early autumn. For the issues to consider in implementing such a policy. please see our earlier article here.
